KHDA vs ACTVET: UAE training accreditation explained

Kafuly EditorialJune 20, 2026 1 min read

UAE training institutes are regulated per-emirate. The two you’ll see most often are KHDA in Dubai and ACTVET in Abu Dhabi.

KHDA (Dubai)

The Knowledge and Human Development Authority issues Educational Services Permits to training institutes operating in Dubai. Permits are renewed annually alongside the trade licence.

ACTVET (Abu Dhabi)

The Abu Dhabi Centre for Technical and Vocational Education and Training licenses vocational and technical training centres and accredits their programmes in the emirate.

Why it matters for buyers

A current permit is a baseline trust signal and is often required for government and semi-government procurement. It also means the provider is subject to inspection and standards.

How to verify on Kafuly

Provider profiles list their accreditations, and you can filter search results by accreditation body. Verified providers carry a badge; look for the permit reference on their profile or ask via an enquiry.
